Last Friday, TOMAKERS JL Consultancy was honored to be invited by Impact Hub Shanghai as a supporter of the "2022 Low Carbon Co-creation Camp - Wuhan | Current situation and future possibilities of the building materials industry in the Central Region" seminar held in Wuhan. The event, organized by Impact Hub Shanghai, Green Ventures, CCF, HSBC China, and the Empyrean Foundation, was co-organized by the Alxa Green Industry Federation and the Alxa SEE Yangtze River Conservation Issues Alliance.


This gathering took place on July 21, 2022, at 2 pm at the Hubei Yangtze Ecological Protection Foundation, situated in Wuhan's East Lake Moshan Scenic Area. TOMAKERS JL Consultancy, representing technology support for the construction industry, facilitated the assembly of representatives from local materials startups in Wuhan—Hubei Zhuotan Technology and Hubei Chuxi Technology. Additionally, local engineering consultants, including Zhongsheng Hongyu Engineering Consultancy, Wuhan Zhongsheng Changhao Engineering Technology, and Hubei Ding Yiheng Engineering Consultancy, were also present.

The event commenced with a presentation by Dr. Du Ting from the School of Civil and Hydraulic Engineering at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, who is a member of the Professional Committee of Recycled Concrete of the Chinese Civil Engineering Society. Dr. Du Ting provided insights on the subject of "Construction Waste Recycling and Development Recommendations for Carbon Neutrality Strategy." She presented an overview of the current state of construction waste recycling in China, highlighting relevant production processes and practical application cases. Dr. Du Ting also presented six key recommendations for industry development, including the need for corresponding government regulations and policy support, as well as the expansion of recycling channels for construction waste, including renovation waste. Following this, Tan Yuan, the Director of the Design Institute at Wonderful Land Group, shared the company's efforts and achievements in the field of assembly-type intelligent construction.

During the roundtable discussion, representatives from different companies exchanged perspectives on "What are the key challenges of carbon neutrality for companies?" an issue that significantly impacts companies navigating the transition. Jie XIANG, representing JL Consultancy, outlined the prevailing challenges encountered at this stage. These include discrepancies between existing industry standards and emerging technologies, a shortage of innovative talent, and the isolated development seen in the process of technology commercialization. Jie emphasized the critical role of industry alliances in the near future.
